| Interview with our composer | 2021-09-17 | Hi golfers and music lovers, As you read in my last post, we have a long soundtrack for an indie golf game. 70 minutes of relaxing music, which incidentally is 70 minutes more music than we ever intended or imagined having in the game when we set out on this journey. | A Little Stats Journey | 2021-08-26 | Hi golfers! It feels like we've been on our Little Golf Journey for a long time, but the end is nearly in sight now. Sorry, we can't announce a release date just yet - we will do so soon! But since we were recently able to get our first 100% playthrough of the game (completing, unlocking, and collecting everything) I thought I'd share a few stats about what you can expect from A Little Golf Journey. There are 400 stars to collect in the game. Not every star is found in a golf hole! We worked hard to round it up to a nice number. Somehow 387 stars didn't look quite as satisfying. | Latest news and updates! | 2021-08-17 | Hi golfers! While we've been very busy lately, I thought I'd share with you some images from the game showing the progress we've made in one area in particular. Here you can see a couple of screenshots from the Forest of Mist, our Wales inspired location full of cobbled castles, fields of flowers, and a mist that gently kisses the lakes with a magical silvery hue! I'm not sure what that wisp is doing in this next image. I've heard that wisps can sometimes lead people to hidden treasures... | Water water everywhere | 2021-05-08 | This is one of the more technical posts, but we wanted to show you some of the new visuals for the game. Since our game is composed of dioramas we have to think about not just what's on the golf courses, but the sides as well, and we got a bit bored of staring at flat water edges for a long time so we used a parallax shader to create the illusion that there's more going on inside the water than there actually is. https://i.imgur.com/axNeO0C.gif Hopefully we'll be able to make it look even prettier before we finish the game! | February news. | 2021-02-22 | Firstly, a thank-you to everyone who checked out our game during the Steam festival, whether you played the demo, wishlisted us, streamed us, or simply wanted to see what this little game is about. It was great to see how much people liked our game. Secondly, here's a small progress update from us. We've been working on our winter location and here's a sneak peak of the winter wonderland. We've been staring out of our windows at nothing but snow for the last 2 months and the icicles just continue to get bigger and bigger! I'm hoping that the next location we work on will be warmer. | Split screen added! | 2020-07-04 | This is one feature I'm excited about - 2 to 4 player Split Screen! As a fan of all those games from the 90s and 00s that had split screen multiplayer, this has a special place in my heart. And now I'll also be able to play this with my son when he figures out how to use a controller. This feature was as much of a surprise to me as you, and I added it! I was working on adding the UI for our hot seat mode, and decided to do a test for split screen gameplay. Before I knew it, I had most of it working! | Dev Blog - Welcome to the Grid... | 2020-06-29 | Now that the Steam Summer Games Festival is behind us, we're hard at work getting the game ready for release and I thought it'd be nice to share more on our process & progress. Production is in full swing on one of our brand new courses; ARES-1980X. Built as a homage to the futuristic VR movies of the 80s (such as TRON), this course features a rich synth soundscape, neon-glow colours and even big dangerous snakes that you'll have to golf around. | Yarn Golf course | 2020-06-19 | Hi everyone! A while ago we told you about our wishlist campaign and of our create an extra golf course at launch if enough people add us to their wishlists. Well, here's a sneak peak of what that course would look like. We don't have a name for it yet (internally we just call it yarn-land), but we picked this style because it's a very different look from the other locations but still fits with the relaxing atmosphere of the game. | Wishlist campaign and new trailer | 2020-05-08 | Hello! We promised we'd get it to you and here it finally is - our trailer showing off the new look of OK Golf HD! As you can see, we've added lush grass everywhere and are really proud of the visuals we've managed to achieve. Please let us know what you think of the new look in the comments below! We started work on this a while ago, before we were all stuck indoors. For us at least, this game has taken on a whole new meaning now. We needed to remind ourselves of the places that are now so far away, and to have a game we can just relax in while a gentle breeze drifts by. Firstly, what is OK Golf HD? Well, its a little different from most golf games in being somewhere between mini-golf and "real" golf. Our courses are puzzle-like and not to scale, rather than being realistic. The gameplay is simple - just pull back and release to shoot - with no clubs to choose from, which means you'll feel like a pro pulling off some cool shots.
