REANIMAL – Bugfix Patch & HDR Update 2026-08-28REANIMAL – Bugfix Patch & HDR Update With this patch, we’ve addressed the most critical issues found in the latest DLC, The Prisoner, for REANIMAL, including DX11/DX12 crashes and a common softlock that could occur while playing the DLC. We’ve also added a few quality-of-life improvements for players using HDR. HDR improvements We’ve made several fixes and improvements to HDR, including improved DLSS quality and a fix for an issue where the wrong DLSS setting was displayed in the UI. Crashing & Black Screen Statement2026-08-18Hello everyone!We just wanted to let you know that we are aware of issues resulting in crashes and black screens following the release of our DLC, The Prisoner. We hereby want to briefly address this issue: It stems from a problem with Shader Model 5.0, a software common across a wide range of GPUs, which causes the issues on both DX11 and DX12. This problem "only" affects PC players, as consoles do not use Shader Model 5.0.We are actively working on a solution to this and other known issues and will release a patch as soon as possible. But to try it out we are today launching it on the Beta branch on Steam. So, if you have encountered a lot of disconnects, please jump into the Beta branch and try it out.
