Content-wise, not much was added. Most of the time I spent working on the game was used to improve performance in the two large Points of Interest, the castle ruins, which I unfortunately broke a bit with the previous update. The origi

Update 0.1.8.3 – Performance & New Points of Interest2025-11-10Added 2 new points of interestReworked performance related to how and when world areas are loadedAdjusted chest loot in the starting areaUpdated ocean water visualsIncreased visible shadow range by 50 percentFixed several issuesSo, I’m pretty satisfied with the performance... I think. Since I still only have my own system to test on, it’s a bit difficult to judge. However, I’m a bit unhappy with the shadow quality, which looks really terrible on the normal settings. That’s why I think I’ll increase the shadow quality a bit in the next update. It will still cost less performance than it did a month ago.Other than that, this update adds 2 new P
Update 0.1.8.2b New Story Notes & Performance Update2025-10-19Added 30 new story notes for Aegis Rock and Tharion’s FallAdded special chests to Aegis Rock and Tharion’s FallAdded keys for the new chestsAdded new named items to Tharion’s FallImproved performance related to shadows (experimental)Expanded the world mapSince some players seem to experience performance issues, I’ve slightly lowered the shadow quality, just enough to keep things looking decent. Even though this reduces memory usage significantly, it doesn’t mean the game can be played without a GPU. Because the game uses dynamic lighting and shadows for the day-and-night cycle, it will always require a proper graphics card. While the cycle is
Update 0.1.8.2 – New Skills & Old Mine Rework2025-10-12Added 16 new skills5 Archer skills4 Pistol skills3 One-handed skills1 Shield skill2 Two-handed skills1 Character skillFixed an issue in the skill tree that prevented learning skills above level 1Completely reworked the dungeon “The Old Mine”So, over the past two weeks, I’ve been working on creating some new skills to give the game a bit more flavor. Overall, I’m quite happy with how they turned out. Nothing groundbreaking, of course, many of them are inspired by familiar abilities from other games. For example, the Archer’s new skill “Fanned Shot” is a little nostalgic for me… I still remember how, about 25 years ago, I spent countless hours

Lumiel the Awakening /// Semi-Annual Progress Report2025-09-29So, let’s get to my semi-annual status update for the game.First, the progress so far: I’ve managed to carve out what I consider a significant portion of Act 1. About 70% of the act is now playable.I’ve created a dialogue system that I’m happy with. Sure, one could argue it could look prettier, but I think it turned out the way I wanted. Through the dialogues, players can receive quests, which works very well. I’m satisfied with it and able to create multiple options. There was a small setback in terms of the scope of work required to create quests, which I hadn’t anticipated, but otherwise, I’m quite satisfied.I’ve also managed to rework the

Update 0.1.7.6c Roof Fixes, Boar Chops & Zone Progress2025-05-14Fixed a bug where the destruction model of mined rocks was not showing up. Fixed an issue that prevented projectiles from destroying destructible objects. A temporary collision check has been added to built houses, allowing roofs to be hidden when entering. This avoids conflicts with other collisions that prevented roofs from disappearing. Right now, the roof only appears after the player enters the house once. This is a temporary workaround until a proper roof setup logic at build completion is added. Boar death sound volume reduced by 70%. Fixed a bug where boars and wolves played an extra, incorrect sound on death. Added Boar Chops as loot
Update 0.1.7.6b – Bug Fixes, Boars & Small Improvements2025-05-02Fixed a bug that prevented building houses. Item drop physics have been adjusted – they no longer roll or slide as far. Ranged enemies’ attack speed reduced by 30%. Some bow skills now have a shorter cast time. Explosive Arrow now has 50% reduced cooldown. Shield skills now finally have visual effects. Added a new animal for more variety in the forests: the wild boar 🐗 🔧 Known issue: There’s currently a bug with built structures, when trees accidentally respawn inside them. This causes collision issues and prevents roofs from disappearing correctly. As long as trees are inside the building, the system struggles to display things properly. O
Update 0.1.7.6 – First Area Expansion & Setup for Future Content2025-04-26This update introduces the first expansion of the game world – it's not fully finished yet, but the foundation is laid. I'm currently working on the flora and fauna, which I plan to complete in the next few days. Once that's done, I’ll focus on quests, loot, and other content. New armor, weapons, and matching crafting recipes will come with the new area. I expect to have items and recipes ready by next week. The new area will also introduce the first “faction” – though I’m still unsure if that’s the right word. Guild doesn’t quite fit, and faction also sounds a bit off. Let’s call it a thieves’ organization for now. To avoid false expectation
Update 0.1.7.5c Small Update with Fixes, Tweaks & World Notes2025-04-10Didn’t have much time over the past two weeks, so this is a smaller, but still important update. Fixed an issue where the “onHit” trigger only activated on “onAttack”. Fixed incorrect level requirements for gear in the blacksmith’s extended shop in the first village. Fixed collision issues where enemies could look and shoot through walls – applied to half the objects so far, the rest will follow soon. Increased bandit aggro range by 50%. Bandit despawn time increased from 2 minutes to 10 minutes. 20 new world notes were added. more coming soon. Info boards added to both Cassandra hideouts. Several new NPCs were introduced. A new side questlin
Finally! Roadmap Plan for Upcoming Content Q2-Q1 20262025-03-27I finally managed to put together a Roadmap, something I hadn’t gotten around to since the release. In general, creating the Roadmap is a bit tricky because I’m still unsure about some aspects, like how and when I’ll be able to implement certain things. Additionally, the Roadmap will be somewhat speculative. For that reason, the Roadmap currently covers only about a year. I will only list things that I can realistically see myself implementing within that time frame. Some aspects, like improving the world map with additional features or other functions, are left out for now. Of course, more skills are planned, but when and how I’ll implement

Quest Fixing2025-03-14A new fix for the recurring quest bug, plus an update for fast-clicking players! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to fully fix the issue with the quest reappearing. So here’s another fix. In my testing, it no longer shows up – at least for me. However, for those who already have it, I can’t remove it anymore. Since I no longer have an old save file, I wasn’t able to test the fix thoroughly. The problem is that the quest technically doesn’t exist, making it tricky to remove. I’ve now added an additional method to delete it, but unfortunately, I can’t test it myself. Hopefully, this will finally put an end to this issue. Sorry for the inconvenience
Update 0.1.7.3 – Adjustments, New NPCs & Quests2025-03-13Stats for weapons and armor have been reduced and adjusted. Arrow speed for basic bow attacks has been increased by 50%. The mesh of the crabs on the beach has been enlarged so they are easier to click for basic attacks. Three new NPCs with dialogues and two new quests have been added to the first village.
Update 0.1.7.2 – Bug Fixes, Balancing & Learned a Bit of English2025-03-12Update 0.1.7.2 Right now, I’m trying to create a new trailer. To gather enough video material, I played my game extensively and got my ass kicked constantly... I realized that running back all the time is pretty exhausting. Additionally, I noticed a few bugs while playing and watching AresLps' stream (much love ❤️), which I want to fix with this update. That’s why this is a slightly bigger patch with bug fixes and balancing adjustments: Brightness during rain and thunderstorms has been adjusted so it no longer looks like nighttime. The guy in the tavern has learned English – his dialogue is no longer in German! I also learned a bit of English
Before you buy!2025-03-10Since I finally managed to release the game, I want to share a few things with you first. Before you buy, please be aware that this is not a fully finished game. Many features are already implemented, such as base building, crafting, secrets, quests, a dialogue system, and more, but most of them are still quite basic. I'm still experimenting with some mechanics to find the best way to implement them. Everything works, but it could definitely be better. The UI, in particular, looks pretty terrible – turns out that's not really my talent. In short: Keep your expectations low. I don’t want anyone to buy the game and end up not having fun. And fu
Where We Stand & Where We’re Headed2025-02-28If someone had told me a few years ago that I would one day develop my own game, I would probably have thought they were crazy. And now here I am, about to release it in the next few weeks... Many will surely criticize the fact that the game is coming out so early, and rightly so. But just try testing your own game... especially if you really know every corner of it. Sure, I can look for bugs, but things like balance and gameplay feeling? Difficult. That’s why I depend on every single piece of criticism to adjust the game accordingly. I also expect a lot of critical voices, but I have to be able to handle that as long as they remain construct
A somewhat larger update featuring the revisions from the last month.2025-02-01I think the biggest change in the update is that you can now level up all skills to level 10. Unfortunately, I caused a small bug with this because the prerequisites for the previous skills no longer work. That's what a skill tree is all about: you need to learn the previous skill before you can learn a new one. Since the skill tree is still a bit jumbled and will later be divided into weapon types, I temporarily converted it into a grid structure without skill prerequisites until I fix the issue. The only prerequisite for skills now is the level, and you can just learn the last skill once you reach the required level. In addition, there are
Demo Build Update2025-01-02With the Update to v0.008, I've finally to save its state—specifically for harvested resources like stones and trees. This means that these resources are now finite. Once they’re harvested, they won’t respawn when the world is reloaded. With the current build, building is now possible anywhere, even in the middle of a forest. Only points of interest and dungeons are blocked from construction. I’ve been working on this resource-saving functionality for quite some time, and this current version is the first stable one, as far as I could test it. In the demo area, there are approximately 60,000 trees and 20,000 stones available to harvest. I hav
Main Update for Improved Performance and Elimination of Walking Stutters!2024-11-20With this update, I aim to improve performance and eliminate the small stutters that occurred while walking. In the future, I plan to introduce enhanced system settings that will hopefully make the game playable on older PCs as well. Additionally, projectile weapons and their skills have been reintroduced and reworked in this update. Unfortunately, there are still some issues that might cause projectiles to miss their target—so this is still a work in progress. Points of interest have also been added to the world map.
