| Game Devs of Colour Expo; Quick update and Art | 2026-09-25 | Hi friends, This is just a quick note to let you know that Winter Knight is once again taking part in Game Devs of Colour Expo! There's a small discount that will run from now until the end of Steam's autumn sale. This is an event that means quite a bit to me as it was the first event Winter Knight was showcased in. and was what helped me believe it did have an audience. I'm glad to be back now that the game is released, and happy to be among so many other unique, heartfelt projects you can check out! An Update on Community Items:I've had to do some back and forth with Steam regarding trading cards and community items, but I'm now waiting on a |
| Upcoming Updates: Slight Price Change, Extra Content | 2026-08-11 | Hi friends, I hope you've been doing well!I have an update for you today on some upcoming changes:Firstly, in two weeks (on August 25th), Winter Knight's price will be adjusted by a dollar, from 13.99 to 14.99. Why? Well, Winter Knight is basically already discounted. It has more words than a full length novel, more visuals than the vast majority of VNs of its length, and a staggering amount of original music, all for less than 15 bucks. But, I wanted it to be something players could grab easily even without a discount, so I priced it at less than what I thought was fair to me. Unfortunately, I've found that steam as a storefront doesn't work |

| Patch 1.0.5 Live | 2026-05-29 | Patch notes: Autosaves have been updated: The game now autosaves before every choice, allowing you to reload quickly in case you accidentally picked the wrong option or unexpectedly came across an ending. Please do not rely on autosaves in place of manual saves for generally saving your progress as these slots get automatically overwritten. Save slots have increased from 60 to 72. Fixed a bug where not typing a name correctly in a certain scene would not let you try again and lead to a potential soft-lock. Minor text edits and spacing have been adjusted. Fixed typos. |
| Patch 1.0.4 | 2026-05-18 | Made it possible to choose "Wait... why don't I know your name?" on a repeat playthrough. |
| Patch 1.0.3 | 2026-05-18 | Added an option to replay the flashback using her real name once it's been learned, or keep it blank. Changed mentions of her name in certain places in the story. Fixed spacing in certain codex entries. |

| The Last Winter Knight - out now! | 2026-05-11 | It's here! The Last Winter Knight is available now on Steam! It's been nearly three years since I first started putting together a game about a haunted suit of armour, coming up with its story and recording the very first piece of music at my piano. It's been a lot of work (and rework!) over that time, and I'm so excited to share its final version with you now. I you'll enjoy following along on the knight's journey, and seeing its twists and turns (and maybe leading our poor hero down a terrible path or two...)The demo has been updated if you'd like to give it a try first! The soundtrack is also available! Currently only mp3 format is downloada |
| The Last Winter Knight comes out this May! | 2026-04-14 | Hey spooky friend! I know it's been a while since the last update; I've still been hard at work on Winter Knight... in fact I've been a little too buried in my work to pull myself away from development to talk about it! I finally managed to do just that though, so here's an overdue update:Release Date - May 11thLet me get the biggest news out of the way: Steam has approved the game's preliminary build! If all goes well, the game will release on May 11th. I'm working on finishing the game's final stages now, which means it's on track for release.**Assuming nothing terrible happens to me in the next few weeks, which shouldn't, but since I am th |
| Small update; Choose Wisely Festival begins! | 2025-12-08 | Hi friends! The last festival of the year is here, and it's a big one! I'm happy to announce that Winter Knight was accepted into the first ever Choose Wisely Festival! As well, the game recently reached 8k wishlists! I'm currently still locked away coding but wanted to sketch something to celebrate. It feels like an incredible number that I didn't think I would ever reach as a solo dev working on my first big game, so I'm so grateful to you all! Before I head back to my desk, here's a little preview from chapter two:spookyI hope you have a great rest of the year, and see you in the next one! |
| October Update; Release Date Postponed | 2025-10-28 | Hello friends! I've been at work as usual on The Last Winter Knight, but today I have to announce that its release date will now be delayed to quarter one of 2026.I know that many of you have been looking forward to it, so I'm truly sorry to have to push back its release again. Solo development can be a struggle to juggle with life, and lately I've been feeling burnt out and not in a state to finish it before the end of the year -- much less try to release it during the hectic holiday period!I think it's been long overdue that I take a real break, and hopefully I'll be refreshed and ready to tackle things again after. I truly hope you underst |
| September Update | 2025-09-08 | Hi spooky friends!Development in August felt like a blur. I feel like I was possessed by something and when I woke up, bleary-eyed and staring upon my screen in the middle of the night, the first chapter of Winter Knight was complete.Chapter one ended up being longer than I initially planned. The playable demo takes up a bit more than half of it, when I thought it would be more like 3/4ths. Two of the three main branches in it are complete; the third one I'll return to once the other chapters are finished since it's unlikely players will see it on a first playthrough. Now, onto plans and progress!Chapter Two GoalsMy goal for September is to fi |

| May Update! New Demo Coming Soon | 2025-05-12 | Hi spooky friends! It's been a while. I've been working hard on the game these past few months, but life has also happened (as it tends to do), so I'm sorry about not posting a lengthy update until now! I'm happy to write that I'm at a point where progress is going steady, and a new and improved demo release is on the horizon! Since deciding to do a rework I've basically rebuilt the game from scratch, thrown out the spaghetti point-and-click code, updated the UI and many of the visuals, and most important of all, dug deep into the rewrite for the story. So, let me tell you what I've been working on, what you can find in the new demo, and: Why |
| December Devlog; Demo Removal | 2024-12-06 | Hi friends! While I was working out some tricky bits in the script I realised that this story has transformed quite considerably from the one I originally set out to tell. I’ve gotten to know these characters much better and as they developed, their motivations and beliefs have changed as well. In short, I feel like giving the story a simple edit now just isn’t enough. What Winter Knight needs is a fairly significant rewrite. The overall themes, mood and atmosphere won’t change, but I hope these revisions will do a lot to improve the pacing and add depth to the mystery—and result in a more satisfying experience in the end! Because of this, th |
