First Update: Difficulty Tweaks2025-05-02Hi everybody! Tempest Tower is almost 14 days old and we have been collating a lot of early feedback. Many players feel that the difficulty curve of the game is quite steep and unforgiving, and this is reflected in the median time played. To combat this, we have made some balance changes, added a new level, and updated the experience required to unlock new buildings. We hope that this update smooths out the difficulty curve, while still offering a challenge in the later levels. Last chance to get Tempest Tower at 10% off The Tempest Tower launch discount is ending on Monday! The weekend is the perfect time to grab the game if you think it is

The Gentle Art of Making Enemies2025-04-22The element of our game Tempest Tower that we get asked about the most on social media is the art style. Specifically, the visual style of our enemies. There just seems to be something in how they look, fans repeatedly asked how we are achieving such a “crisp” and sometimes “clayish” look. Today we are diving into exactly that. Return of the Lost Peepers Meet the Peepers – the endearing little eyeball creatures that inhabit the world of Tempest Tower, and a kind of representation of consciousness. They always seem a little lost and “in over their eyes,” like they need a little help to cross the road or figure out where they’re going. These li

We are excited to be involved in the February edition of Steam Next Fest this year, but we are dropping the Demo a little early so that we can have it live for the Press Preview of the event. Introducing Fai2025-02-05We had a few questions come up on our Discord about the main character of Tempest Tower and their role in the world of Trip Space. It’s time to properly meet Fai. The World of Trip Space We can't properly introduce our main character without telling you a bit about the world that Tempest Tower takes place in. The concept of Trip Space was originally created as a backdrop for our First-Person Puzzle game, Spectacle. It is a surreal, abstract collection of floating islands and strange vistas that living creatures visit while dreaming, or meditating, or... by other means. Visitors to Trip Space manifest as Peepers (cute little eyeball creatures

DevBlog: Designing levels for Tempest Tower2024-10-30Hello! We are excited to post our first proper Dev Blog and give the community a glimpse of how the sausage is made. This news post is a shortened version of the latest Half Past Yellow blog post, which can be read in full here: https://halfpastyellow.com/blog/2024/10/30/Level-Design-in-Tempest-Tower.html Learning from our previous game An important aspect of the Tempest Tower project is our ability to move quickly with ideas. Because of this, the decision was made early on to use a similar camera angle and movement style to our previous game, Time on Frog Island.
