| v1.0.2 Expanded Info Update | 2026-06-05 | Hello, everyone!I am very excited to share this update, which introduces an additional level of information to the evolution menu for those desiring a bit more context when making decisions.By clicking the "?" icon in the upper-left or pressing TAB on your keyboard, it will bring down a set of panels that provide a more thorough explanation of what is being presented. This is also accessible by pressing the "x" button, or corresponding button, on a gamepad.Any time you see an evolution that needs a bit more explaining, my hope is that this will help steer you in the right direction. I have also included individual panels for all synergies.Oth |
| 1.0.1.7b Patch | 2026-05-31 | Additional small formatting and description adjustments based on player feedback. I will be working on a larger and more encompassing update in the near term, but may continue to release patches like this to address issues with a more acute impact. Thank you to those who have played and taken the time to share your experience. As always, please let me know if you discover any issues with the current build. Thanks! |
| 1.0.1.7 Patch | 2026-05-28 | Small change to infest unlock description to help clarify effect on first choosing Change to "Sparks" description to include the player's current shock chance, as this context is important to how it behaves and interacts with other abilities Fixed a typo in a description that was somehow missed Nothing major this time, the typo was the main instigator. Thanks to the individual who pointed it out. Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the current build. Thanks! |
| 1.0.1.6 Patch | 2026-05-21 | Fix for octane (fire on dash) + sugar rush causing lag if the player were to spam dash very quickly. Octane should now be much lighter-weight performance wise in general. As always, let me know if you encounter any issues in the comments or on the community hub. Thank you! |
| 1.0.1.5 Patch | 2026-05-19 | Optimizations for chain lightning This should help with performance on mid-range hardware for builds using chain (and multi-chain) as a primary focus. Please let me know if you experience any issues with the current build in the comments or over on the community hub, and I will address them as soon as possible. Thanks! |
| 1.0.1.4 Patch | 2026-05-17 | Fix for a rare edge case in which meta progression could fail to appear. This is a straightforward fix. I wanted to ensure that it unlocked for everyone who had participated in at least one run and had at least one currency. For most, this issue would have resolved itself organically if it occurred in the first place. But if you are someone with a lot of remains and never understood what they were for or how to use them you should now have access to the "shop" in the main menu. Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the current build on the community hub or in reply to patch notes. Thank you! |
| 1.0.1.3 Patch | 2026-05-15 | Fix for Ouija Board. I believe this was only affecting swarms that contained infest/offspring. I found an undesirable interaction between the two, and apologies to anyone who had a run affected by it. If you continue to experience any issues related to the pickup please let me know on the community hub or you can respond to this patch note, I should see it. Details about swarm comp and any other information are very helpful. Thank you to the individuals who helped me track this down. Hopefully it should be resolved now. Let me know otherwise or if you experience any other issues. Thanks! |
| 1.0.1.2b Patch/Hotfix | 2026-05-15 | Ouija Board temporarily removed from drop pool while I investigate issues. Thank you to those players who reported it. It should be back once I'm confident I've located the problem. |
| Patch 1.0.1.2 | 2026-05-13 | Improved Steam/Steam Deck runtime cleanup on game exit. As always, please let me know if you encounter any issues with the current build on the community hub. Thank you! |
| 1.0.1.1 Patch | 2026-05-10 | Fix for Bleach triggering "It Will Kill" and "Shoes Came Off" |
| Power-Update (v1.0.1) | 2026-05-07 | Hello, everyone!Today I have a content update for you, which adds six new drops to the current lineup. These power-ups are general purpose and should provide support for all swarm comps. They include the following:BleachOuija BoardVoodoo DollHand SanitizerSugar RushStopwatchIn order to accommodate the growing pool, I have also increased the base chance of special drops appearing. My hope is that they will provide support, flavor, and variety to your runs. It's also my way of saying thank you to everyone who has played and enjoyed the game so far. You all are amazing. If there are any issues you discover, please let me know on the community hub a |
| 1.0.0.5 Patch | 2026-04-30 | Mostly focused on Charm squirrels. They should now perform far better on Steam Deck and midrange hardware when controlling large swarms in late/endless rounds. With a swarm of ~100 on Day 25, I no longer noticed any slowdown on Steam Deck. Please let me know if you experience otherwise. Minor improvements have been made to how all fur effects are managed behind the scenes. Let me know if you encounter any issues. Thank you! |
| 1.0.0.4 Patch & Update | 2026-04-29 | There are a few things for today's update. I'll go into some detail on a couple below, but here's the breakdown: Embers from Friction have been reduced in size New visual effects for Popthorn synergy Hit-flash toggle in pause menu quick-options Performance optimization for Fission & Prismatic Slight number tweaks for Thinners & Pain Some pause menu UI tweaks (hovering with mouse over quick options now highlights them) Pressing (B) on controller now exits the pause menu (as probably should have been the case) As far as more detail: Hit flash can now be toggled. In addition, this will also stop the evolution bar from pulsing, reduces red aura a |
| 1.0.0.3 Patch | 2026-04-27 | Toxins no longer cause a hit flash on enemies. I found it could get pretty egregious today. My apologies. Having an option to toggle hit flash is high on my priorities. The only other small tweak is that Scorch will be more readily accessible as an evolution once unlocked. I discovered that it was using Pyre as a prerequisite. I must have thought that was a good idea at some point. Obviously I want you to have it for all things fire-related. A small patch, but please let me know if any issues arise. Thank you! |
| 1.0.0.2 Patch | 2026-04-25 | Further addresses performance on mid-range hardware specifically when combining dark + infest squirrels. The wonderful combination of Sacrifice + Zealots + Legion + offspring should now behave much more consistently performance-wise. All my testing uses Steam Deck as a baseline. This patch also addresses hit-flash triggering when Sacrament is applied to offspring. Please let me know if you encounter and issues. Thank you! |
| 1.0.0.1 Patch | 2026-04-24 | Performance optimizations for larger swarms comprised of ice, infest, and/or dark squirrels, specifically targeting mid-range hardware. As always please let me know if you encounter any issues. Thank you! |
| 4.23.26 Hotfix 1 | 2026-04-23 | Fix for windowed minimization triggering invalid resolution |
| 4.21.26 Hotfix 1 | 2026-04-21 | Fix for shadow draw controller not behaving in the tutorial. |

| October Next Fest: News & Info | 2025-10-13 | Greetings, everyone!October Next Fest kicks off today, so I wanted to provide an update on state-of-play and what to expect.Recent UpdatesAs a reminder, the demo now includes gamepad support using Xbox-controller prompts. This has made Steam Deck a viable way to play. More granular support and integration is planned for the future.QOL updates and fixes have been made based on various feedback I received. In the most recent update (Demo v1.0.8), I've included a second-tier synergy that can be unlocked after acquiring the first. | (Demo v1.0.2) Basic Controller Support | 2025-09-25 | Update: If you are using a different type of controller than an Xbox controller, the game should now default to the "Gamepad" template for Steam Input. You can configure this manually by clicking on the controller icon with the game selected in your library, then clicking on the header that says "Using Template: " and selecting the "Gamepad" template. This may allow you to use other controller devices, such as a Dual Sense controller. However, input descriptions within the controls menu and prompts still reflect an Xbox controller layout for the time being.Update 2: Demo v1.0.3 fixes game not displaying correctly on Steam DeckHello everyone,I |
