Shop Bulletin 4 - From the Desk of Bob2026-10-12From the desk of BOB - Owner of 8bit Salvage and a hairless Chia pet. So, I just heard that our shop will be part of Steam's Next Fest in 7 days. Randy told me that this is a "big deal", that I should ask everyone to "wishlist us", and to "quit putting everything in quotes". Oh...We have a few improvements for the demo that I wanted to share. Yup! No note cards this time, at least none that I'm going to read. Sometimes you have to trust that just being yourself is enough. Well, that's half the battle and the other half I'm saving for when I really need it. On to the changes! First, there were some green and red numbers on the summary board at
Shop Bulletin 3 — From the Desk of Bob2026-09-21From the desk of BOB - Owner of 8bit Salvage and a slightly used set of Emeril knives.Ok, everyone. This time Randy gave me a lot of note cards. He says they're in order, but I'm not sure if that was before or after I dropped them.Randy's RunesAnyways, let's start with Randy's new toy. I know there were at least 3 cards in here about it.See, Randy found some runes in this broken machine from some abandoned storage unit. I'm thinking people hoard the weirdest things, but Randy said that these could make our cleaning system extra powerful. He was building a new thingy to hold the runes, but they were acting sorta wonky being so close to each oth
Shop Bulletin 2 — From the Desk of Bob2026-08-20From the desk of BOB - Owner of 8bit Salvage and a genuine moon rock. Ok. This time I'll be reading from some note cards Randy gave me, so if anything doesn't make sense, just put your complaint in the box. Randy improved MY goo formula even more! Goo can now spread across the entire sprite. This did remove the old acid peeling, but we... ok, Randy... improved the normal auto-peel formula to make up for it. Also, my allergies seemed to have improved. The roller launchers spin slower now. Nobody got dizzy. I want to be clear about that. They simply rotate at a more professional speed. The roller brushes are slower too. Which is good. They were
Shop Bulletin — From the Desk of Bob2026-08-12From the desk of BOB — Owner of 8bit Salvage and various collectible mugs Big week at the shop. I've completed speech therapy. They say I'm still tone-deaf, but that's just a matter of practice. You may now interrupt me while I'm talking. Randy installed a button. I've chosen not to take it personally. The big speeches stay uninterruptible — those are my art. Randy changed the sprite solution. The pixels sound different coming off now. Riper, if you ask me. The rollers also got a redesign and they no longer refuse to roll directly over sprites. Also, the vacuum has a better grip. The machines are behaving better than they ever have and Randy
The demo is out — a full "early years" story arc, free2026-08-07The demo is now live, and it's a full "early years" story arc all on its own.8bit Salvage (the company - which is just Bob, Randy, and you) salvages pixels from retired game sprites. You hold a spinning brush over the art, the pixels come off one at a time, and they get sucked up through the hose. Your boss, Bob, walks you through everything, but not really. You'll see!It starts off slow, and as you upgrade your workplace, things go from calm to kinda chaotic - in the best kinda way. About 40 minutes, completely free, right here on this page.If you enjoy it, a wishlist genuinely helps a small shop get seen. And I'd love to hear what you think
